What is TEND Court?
TEND (Texas Emergency Network Diversion) Court is a youth-centered specialty court based on multidisciplinary knowledge of exploitation, human trafficking, and commercial sexual exploitation of youth. TEND Court assists networked agency partners in order to respond in a timely manner to each youth within the Laredo/Webb County South Texas area.
This support to youth in TEND Court aims to guide youth away from any further victimization and potential for involvement in the juvenile justice and/or criminal justice system as well as empower our youth to understand the importance of reaching self-sufficiency and self-care levels. TEND Court hopes that youth lead productive, constructive, and positive lives. TEND Court aspires for our youth to be positive advocates within their community. These hopes are based upon the belief that youth who are given tailored resources and assistance can and will prevail over the strains and challenges of past abuse and exploitation.

The TEND Court plants positive seeds, hope, and meets each youth at the level they are at…
(Reply from a TEND Court youth) … “and it’s up to us to water the seed” …
The TEND Court understands the importance of continually redirecting the youth in a positive, and respectful way.
As the TEND Court’s goal is also to build trust, encourage the youth, nurturing their goals, dreams, and wishes, while they discover their new journey and establish self-sufficiency levels.
